Terms & Conditions

By making a holiday booking at Mwnt Camping you accept the following Terms & Conditions:

1. Mwnt Camping is affiliated with and acts under the care and remit of the Eco Camping Club. As such the Welsh Government have provided a certificate of exemption from section 269 of the Public Health Act. You can find out more about the Eco Camping Club on the dedicated page on this website.

2. Payment

Once you make a booking enquiry we will hold your dates provisionally for up to seven days, after which, if we have not received any payment, the dates will be released. For your convenience we recommend full payment when booking a camping pitch or other stay. Receipt of the payment secures your booking. Alternatively, we can accept payments of a 50% deposit, and in this case the balance is required six weeks prior to your arrival date. If we do not receive your balance by this time, we will assume you have cancelled your holiday and release the dates - see below. For short lead-time bookings - ie. those booked less than six weeks before arrival, the full amount will always be requested to secure the booking.

3. Cancellation by You

If you cancel your holiday six weeks or more before your arrival date we will refund your full payment less a £20 admin fee.  If you cancel your holiday less than six weeks before your arrival date and we are able to re-let your holiday for the dates you have booked, we will refund your full payment, less a £20 admin fee. In the event that we are unable re-let your dates, no refund will be made. Bookings are not transferable to another family without our prior agreement in writing. If you are concerned about the prospect of cancellation, please take out holiday insurance.

4. Cancellation by Us

Mwnt Camping reserves the right to cancel a camping holiday at short notice if we are unable to provide safe glamping accommodation or camping environment, due to extreme weather conditions, ill health, fire, flooding or any other extenuating circumstances within or beyond our control. Under such circumstances, your full payment will be returned to you. Mwnt Camping cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, caused by cancellation.

5. Children

There are many opportunities for play and adventure on our site. Our aim is for children to have a truly enriching experience of space and freedom. But because Mwnt Camping is on a busy smallholding, with some areas of open water, there are contingent risks to be aware of. These risks are small and should be self-evident - but if you are not clear, please ask. Mwnt Camping accepts no responsibility for injury incurred on site. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children on site at all times.

6. Cars & Campervans

The speed limit while on the campsite is 5 mph. You may take your car up to your pitch on arrival day to set up - and on departure day to pack up. For the rest of your stay, cars must be parked in the parking area near the entrance. Campervans are only permitted on certain pitches. If we have had periods of prolonged rain and on arrival or departure days the ground is considered (by us) to be too soft to drive on, please use the wheelbarrows and trolleys to transport you gear.

7. Recycling & Rubbish

A condition of camping here that you recycle your rubbish. That means separating glass, cans, plastic, paper, cardboard etc. and placing them in the special bins provided in the barn. What is left, ie. only items that are not recyclable, can be placed in the small landfill bin.

8. Things that go bump in the night

It's nice to know that you are perhaps only meters from a badger sett or a fox den. At night you'll probably hear them scurrying around. The problem is that they are looking for an easy feast and may try to raid your food stocks and recycling. One or two simple precautions will help. Put your food in suitable, hard containers and your recycling in the bins provided. Don’t leave food scraps lying around and make sure your tent is zipped up at bedtime.

9. Campfires & Firewood

Please only use the designated campfire places and do not enlarge or alter the position of the designated campfire places. Do not leave your campfire unattended and think carefully about whether or not to light a fire if it is windy. Place the money for firewood in the honesty box by the woodpile or settle up when you leave.

10. Consideration for Others

This is a peaceful, quiet campsite for the enjoyment of nature. We do not allow radios, stereos or other sound systems and only quiet talking is permitted after 10.30pm. Acoustic instruments can be played before then. Noisy visitors who disturb other guests will be asked politely to leave, without refund (this has never needed to happen).

11. Dogs

Sorry but we do not permit dogs at Mwnt Camping.

12. Smokers

All the indoor and undercover facilities are strictly NO SMOKING. If you smoke, do it outside and dispose of your cigarette ends in the campfire or bin.

13. The Weather

In common with all of West Wales, this campsite can be subjected to extreme weather conditions. Very strong winds and torrential rain can occur at any time of year, though we are fortunate in that we do not flood. You must ensure that your tent is robust and correctly erected.

14. Property Loss

Mwnt Camping cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property. We have never had an incidence of theft and we very much hope we never do.

15. Breakages & Damage

Should any significant damage or breakage occur, other than acceptable wear and tear, a charge for replacement may be made. We reserve the right to charge for excessive cleaning where a pitch or unit has been left in an unacceptable condition, through waste, litter, interference in the structure, movement of furniture and contents etc. Guests will be held responsible for any fire, smoke or general damage, or alteration to the structure caused by negligence.
